ivan_j._eberle1
My P645N has been an amazingly rugged camera. That said, the shutter speed dial popped off for the second time, and now needs replaced as I've lost the center release button. I see these shutter dial assemblies are available new off eBay, but it's not readily apparent whether the camera needs disassembled to replace it. Anyone with such experience care to chime in?
yuri_huta
Hi Ivan. My friend has this same problem. Can you share a link for the part on eBay? I have looked but only found the other dial for the 645N. Thanks! Yuri

karl_schuneman
I had to fix mine two years ago.
Pentax does sell the part. If you call service center, they will email you a schematic. I think I spent around $9 us for the parts.
I order the repair manual from eBay, was helpful. Leatherette needs to be removed and then the top cover.
lorenz_wyss1
Karl, can you please describe how to remove the top cover? I have removed all the screws that I can find but I can't get the cover off.
lorenz_wyss1
I found out how to remove the top cover. There are four screws under the flash hotshoe. The spirng insert of the hotshoe slides out to reveal the screws.
