jay_h1
In priority aperture mode, I've noticed that the exposure my camera (Canon 5D Mark II) selects often does not put the exposure level indicator at the centerpoint. I'm using evaluative metering. Can someone please explain why the camera is not selecting a shutter speed to put the exposure level indicator in the middle?
Thanks!
richard_quindry
Not sure about your Canon as I'm a Nikon shooter, but my cameras in addition to shutter and aperture priority have a control that can be set to consistently under / over expose in 1/3 stop increments from what the meter indicates to fine tune the results to the photographers personal preferences. I suspect that this control is on without your knowing it.

Rich Quindry
Richard Quindry Photography
chrisnielsen
Do you have bracketing or exposure compensation set?
jay_h1
Arrggh... Exposure compensation was set to -1. It's a new camera, and I had never intentionally changed that setting. Must have been changed inadvertently. Thanks for the responses.
