Lens markings. What do they mean?

<p>I have recently bought a used Nikkor 35-70 mm f/2.8 D lens. I have only ever used a Nikon 35mm f/1.8 G and the kit lens before so I have no idea what the markings in the lens mean.</p>

<p>I know one of them is a DOF scale but how do I use it? How do I use the lens in Macro mode?</p>

<p>Any help will be very much appreciated.<br>

<p>Pull the zoom to the 35mm setting. Press silver button and turn the lens toward macro as needed. </p>

<p>BTW: On the 35-75/2.8D Nikkor, the two markings oposite to the distant scale are not DOF scale. They are infrared marker for 75mm and 35mm. </p>
