mhahn Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011
Does anyone have any idea whether there would be any noticeable difference in image quality between pictures taken with an Olympus E-410 (which I have) and the Epl2?
Pictures from the E-410 are reasonable decent. I can't say I enjoy looking through the viewfinder, but I do like its size and weight.
Thanks.

porter Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011
You would get a slight increase. The sensor and processor are both a bit better than on your E410. Biggest increase would probably be in the noise department. I had an E520, which has the same sensor (not sure about processor) as your 410 and I never wanted to shoot over ISO 400. On an EP2 I'm happy going to 1250ish, E-5 I was happy going to 1600. E-5 is basically the same thing as an EPL2 just different body surrounding the guts...

yoshio Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011
Martin

I have a G1 (similar to the EPL2 and my father inlaw has the E410 ... more or less the only thing I notice is that I get focus more often better with the G1, but only when I'm using confirm focus with viewfinder enlargement or manual focus lenses. Aside from that I quite like the E-410 (and yes the viewfinder always makes me laugh), certainly there are nice lenses for it.

Perhaps the EPL2 would be a better "point and shoot" style camera if you need compact?
