Okay - taking the brave step of starting this one off. Have no idea what time it is in other parts of the world, but it's nearly bedtime on Sunday where I am, and somebody has nearly always started this one off by now.
My contribution is a sample shot from a youth group project we are doing in our local church. They are putting together a little clip and have gone for stop motion. Our lighting is a bed lamp, the young people are having a go at shooting and editing the clip. This is one I took to see what it all looked like as we set things up.
They have had fun doing it.

Nearly 10:00am Central Time and no other postings? Huh. (Edit, looks like Doug sneaked in one minute before me.)

From a visit to St. Paul's (MN) Como Zoo Conservatory last Sunday morning. All photos captured with the K20D and Tamron 90mm macro, using a monopod with shake reduction left on- still pretty slow shutter speeds even with the thin cloud and greenhouse glass filtered light.)

Uh, still snowing, raining, freezing rain, sleet, you name it in the northeast. Not complaining. I like to ski and snowshoe and as we all know, it can be a lot worse. Three shots with different focal lengths with the K10D and Tamron 18-250mm. 1) Out The Front Window / It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, still????? f4.5 / Iso 400 / FL 47.5 @ 1/250 sec 2) Helmeted Beebaum / Normally a pretty red flower my wife planted when it blooms. If it blooms this year. f6.3 / Iso 100 / FL 250 @ 1/250 sec 3) The Old Tree /Along one of my snowshoe trails out back. Not exactly lying supine ala Justin, but close for the view up the trunk / f4.0 / Iso 200 / FL 18.0 @ 1/350 sec __________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________

These photos are more of a torture test for a camera than an example of photogrpahy. They were taken at the indoor Equiplex at Spruce Meadows during the Spring Farewell on March 12, 2011. All three taken using with a K-5 and DA 50-135 lens, AWB at ISO 6400, f2.8 and 1/500 sec under pulsing halide lights. Frankly, I'm amazed at the results out of this combo. At 1/500, there is a bit of motion blur, but the trade off was slightly better colour and noise levels compared to ISO 12800 at 1/1000. I think the results under ambient light were even better than the D700 and 70-200 VR that I used in previous years. I would have to stop the 70-200 down at least to f/4 to get the same depth of field and to reduce vignetting, which meant needing at least ISO 12,800 on the Nikon, which isn't as clean as 6400 on the Pentax. These horses are younger and less experienced than the Grand Prix horses, so I try to avoid flash photos during these events as much as possible.
