woolly1
Simple question :- On a Fujica GSW 690 where is the shutter curtain ..... does it even have one? It has a fixed lens and as the shutter dial is also on the lens I assume both the aperture blades and the shutter are in the lens. So, is there any need for an actual curtain shutter at the focal plane? Thanks
geoff_r1
I believe the lenses have leaf shutters, so no, no focal plane shutter.
Alex_Es
I have one and the shutter is in lens. It is a very good camera. I shot my first cover photograph with one.
aplumpton
The early Fujica 6x9 camera (1968) G690, and its successor G690BL, each had interchangeable lenses and leaf shutters in each lens, with a curtain to protect the unexposed film when changing lenses. My GSW690-III, as well as the former similar II model, are fixed lens cameras with no need for a curtain and have the in lens leaf shutter. As Alex says, it is a very good, quite rugged basic camera (apart from small details like a fine but not very smooth operating retractable lens hood) with 120/220 film capability, shutter counter and built in bubble level.
carsten_ranke
I have a GSW690III. The shutter is quiet, less vibration than my M9. You can shoot 1/30 sec handheld, but this depends, of course
Uhooru
I shot one of the 6x9s in school for a project. it was a fixed lens. Small RF spot but really took nice pictures with that big negative. Very simple straightforward camera to use.
furcafe
The shutters are quiet, but the exposure "odometer" is kind of loud.

I have a GSW690III. aplumpton
Christopher. Not to make a clumsy pun but I never put 2 and 2 together as you have.

It would be great to be able to decouple the shutter counter. They might then be better street shooters.
jens_g.r._benthien
Leaf shutter in front of the aperture. Applies to all GW and GSW models, that means 670, 680 and 690.
------------------------------------------ Worry is like a rocking chair.
