GSW690

Simple question :-

On a Fujica GSW 690 where is the shutter curtain ..... does it even have one? It has a fixed lens and as the shutter dial is also on the lens I assume both the aperture blades and the shutter are in the lens. So, is there any need for an actual curtain shutter at the focal plane?

Thanks

The early Fujica 6x9 camera (1968) G690, and its successor G690BL, each had interchangeable lenses and leaf shutters in each lens, with a curtain to protect the unexposed film when changing lenses. My GSW690-III, as well as the former similar II model, are fixed lens cameras with no need for a curtain and have the in lens leaf shutter. As Alex says, it is a very good, quite rugged basic camera (apart from small details like a fine but not very smooth operating retractable lens hood) with 120/220 film capability, shutter counter and built in bubble level.

The shutters are quiet, but the exposure "odometer" is kind of loud.

I have a GSW690III. The shutter is quiet, less vibration than my M9. You can shoot 1/30 sec handheld, but this depends, of course
