clayton_bryson
I just got a hold of a Rolleiflex 2.8 E. The cameras awesome but I'd like to use it for zone system applications, and so I'm trying to locate a sheet film adaptor for it. Can these still be found? It's rather confusing how Rolleiflex never made any clear distinctions between its various models. Does each model require unique parts? In this case, will any Rolleiflex sheet film adaptor fit the model that I have?
jerry_lehrer
Clayton Yes, if it was made for the 6x6cm Rollei it will fit your E. Make sure that you get the ground glass "slide" for it too. It came with most plate adapters, as they were called. Also make certain to use 6.5x9 cm film, not 2 1/4x3 1/4. Jerry
patric_dahl_n
You can almost always find the stuff on eBay. :-)
sjauch
Does anyone know if the 6.5x9 film can still be bought? Thanks, Steve
Aoresteen
You have to try a European dealer for 6x9 sheet film. Agfa used to make it. I think Ilford FP4 is available in 6x9 in Europe.
jerry_lehrer
Steve and Anthony 6x9cm film is still not the right size, but it will work, since the sheet film sheaths hold by the short edges (top and bottom) I used to cut 4x5 film to size, as it is always available. kelly_flanigan1
The sheet film adapter for my Mamyia C3 TLR will work with glass plates or cut sheet films. The glass plate is slightly larger than the cut film size required. The cut sheet films fit in a holder that is the same size as a glass plate. The standard kit for the Mamyia was with 6 sheet film holders; numbered from 1 to 6. Before cutting or ordering special sheet films; it is wise to have the actual holder to measure. If the film is even slightly too large; it will bow out slightly and cause out of focus at the center; and NOT at the edges! This is a weird effect that had me wondering what the heck is going on with the focus!
patric_dahl_n
Agfa APX 100, Ilford Fp4, Macophot ORT25c, Wephota NP15 (Efke 25), Efke PL 100 and Ilford Ortho Plus, are films I know are available in 6,5 x 9 cm. You can also buy 9 x 12 films and cut them easily to 6,5 x 9.
jerry_lehrer
Jens Patric Yes, but you would end up with one 6.5x9 and one 5.5x9 sheets. If you cut it exactly in half, you end up with two 6x9 sheets. Please describe the geometry that you use cutting up 9x12 sheets. Of course you could cut it at an angle and end up with two trapezoids.
