shaloot
Sorry admins, I know this should go in off-topic first... or maybe casual conversations? But I wanted to share this with the Pentax crew first! This is only $35! But it's out of stock already...
http://www.neatoshop.com/product/F-Stop-Watch

I love analog watches and I don't need actual numbers to know the time...
hinman
It is my 1st time seeing such a watch with f-stops. For all members who have an interest, we should let our smarter half to be aware of this item in our wish-list. It is cool and it is not outrageously priced.
Matt Laur
And only $35! Something tells me, though, that the version that shows you f/1.4 is going to cost about four times as much.
snik75
And who ever looks at their watch at f/1.4, anyway???
mcmanamey
HEY!! f/1.4 is extremely important to us overpriced, ego-inflated, wedding photogs who spent way way to much on our over priced equipment and have our houses mortgaged to..... the..... ummmm....
nevermind. :D

I am SO emailing this to the entire family.

Matt Laur
No, it'll be sharp at f/1.4, but you'll see a lot of CA (chronologcal abberation). In fact, that could be handy. If I'm late meeting up with my wife, I'll just tell her it was dark out, and I was using my watch wide open for better Clockeh.

jdemoss99
so does it have an onboard flash so you can see the times at higher f/stops and lower light, so do you push the button on the side to operate the flash and hope you get the time right when it goes off
mountainvisions
This watch looks pretty cool, definitely would make a potential stocking stuffer for a photographer who also likes watches.

william_roberts4
My only question is, how does the quality of time of this analog watch compare to a digital watch?
mc2imaging
I see this is 50mm, but since I use a crop sensor, I'll need a wind-angle version.

Will it take a cable release for time-lapse?

Can't wait to test it at f/11 o' clock sharp.

bob_stevenson
I've decided to wait another five years or so for the Pentax version,...the weather sealing will be handy in the shower and I fancy a lime-green one,...or maybe purple....or tangerine flake......
andrewg_ny
50mm? This thing is huge--better suited for Flavor Flav.

It should have a single-stroke wind lever.
mountainvisions
50mm is a decent size now that I have two large watches to compare to on a daily basis, yes big, but readable at a glance (and the best part is no one ever ask you what time it is, even from across the room they can tell).

The issue I have with my Seiko Flight, which isn't a small watch by any means, is that I cannot really use the slide rule effectively, alright the slide rule is a toy, but a fun little toy in an age of computers and digital gadgets. Telling time is fine however. Beautiful watch too, much nicer in real life where the inside is 3-D like rather than a blob of numbers. My wife has good taste!

My E-Altimeter on the other hand is wonderfully legible at 50mm although not as legible as my digital Suunto Vector but then some would argue the Vector is so repulsive it should be removed from the wrist the minute the hike/climb/ski is up. Over the years I've grown to agree. Suffice to say, I have and always will dislike digital watches!

MattB.Net
Since my job starting requiring me to carry a phone about 10 years ago I stopped wearing watches.
But don't worry Peter, my phone has GPS too! ;)

I just don't like wearing jewelry. My wedding band is the only piece I wear and my phone tells me everything else.
mountainvisions

I just don't like wearing jewelry. My wedding band is the only piece I wear and my phone tells me everything else.

Funny, my wedding band is tucked away in my paddling PFD. Eventually. sometime in the late fall or early winter, my wife goes into the gear room (known as a heated garage to most people), and locates it, putting it back on my finger. Soon there after, ice climbing season starts and it gets taken off an stowed in my bib pocket on the key holder hook till April when she recovers it and puts it back on. In June we start the paddling cycle over again. I figure on an average year I wear my wedding ring 3-4 months.
