traveling lens... where is my schneider 135?

It was originally Hin's lens inherited from the family. I had LBA problems and I sold it to Rose. I should have told Rose to keep it to herself and not use this lens for the traveling lens project. Someone must like it so much that he or she decides to keep it. I don't think Pentaxian will do that, please prove me wrong.

I know that I received an email months ago that it was in CA and enroute to another trip ... but havent heard anything since... is it still on the move? Hin ... no negativity please. I havent been around to keep track of its wanderings. Or to keep peaple moving it around with a reasonable schedule. Im sure we can figure out where it has gotten to.
Yes Justin, she's a sweet peice of glass for an old timer.

@Rose, I need to apologize to you and perhaps to all of my Pentax forum friends for being sarcastic and negative in all of my recent postings with angers. Please do understand when one is without his Pentax camera, that is what pull my emotion low and dry. My k-x is still back-ordered for parts from Japan 4th week into its absence. This is how it gets the worse out of me -- Mel has asked me to cool my jets in one of his response to my Lowest point with Pentax.

And yes, I cool my jets with my film work in a b&w darkroom development class. I used my Ricoh xr-p camera but here are few documentary shots. My Pentax MX came back from Eric on schedule and with 120% satisfaction. And I bribed my older boy for school district transfer with his new camera -- a used Pentax auto 110.
And my 1st developed b&w 8x10 from enlarger in a darkroom lab, shot in tmax 100 and developed with Kodak HC110, printed on Ilford Pearl 8x10 paper
I will try to beg my teacher/mentor to let me develop my 6x6 and 645 from 120 films tonight

I believe Javier's traveling spottie took a year for her journey. & He too had to ask around for her whereabouts. -so I was expecting that it would take a bit before Id see my schneider again. still I was surprised how few pictures or commentary has been posted about it.
@RT ... you're right. Javier had pics showing of his camera in almost every home she visited (whooH bad grammar there!). My poor schnieder doesnt have even a quarter of the fanfare... as if she's a poor relative who isnt well like and has outstayed her welcome. Definitely NOT an expected analogy to use on the schneider 135 m42 mount...

Javier is correct - it is sitting in a box in my garage alongside his Spotmatic. I was just thinking the other day that I really need to get down to the UPS store and send that box off. Last I heard the plan was to send the whole setup to Javier. There are still some shots on the roll of film in the camera (as near as I can tell). I'll try to get this out on Saturday or Monday.

@Frank, I hope your garage is not like my garage in a detached garage home. My garage gets very hot in the summer due to no insulation and a hot place is not recommended for storing camera equipment. When you place a lens in a hot place such as leaving my camera bag inside my car unintentionally. Due to heat and aging, the lubricants tend to leak out. Just a word of caution to share.

Hin, you need to fix and wash those purple 645 negs some more :o
That's a beautiful MX and Limited you have there ;)
I hope the lens gets found, and I too would like to see some pics :)

Those purple one come from IlFord xp2 400. The negative on left is from Fuji Acros 100 while the purple negative on right comes from IlFord xp2 400. The middle picture comes from Kodak Tmax 100, shot with Ricoh xr-p on a 200mm f/3.5 prime, developed in HC110 and printed on IlFord 8x10 pearl paper in my darkroom class lab.
.
Though the C41 b&w in IlFord xp-2, I was able to do wet printing with an enlarger in a lab that I need to use higher contrast filter as in +3.5 to +4.5. They do come out reasonably well but the true b&w with Fuji Acros 100 comes out spectacular without the need of any filters.

I am absolutely hooked on b&w film on the tonality, the grain, the ever interesting process in wet printing with an enlarger.

Glad you enjoy the film :)
I think the purple comes from the anti-halation dyes. I'm not sure if its the same in C41 B+W films though. I had the same problem from Tri-X developed at my pro lab and when I developed my own negs, I got no purple. I got a suspicion that the labs just dev the film and try to get it out the door as fast as they can. Some films can be stubborn though like Fuji 100SS. The purple will decrease the contrast I think. It might even change the contrast a little depending on if you use VC paper to print...
