Leica R4 winder & Minolta XD-11

<p>That's an interesting question! Considering how cheap Winder Ds are (or were, when I got mine), I doubt I'd even consider trying it. If they were interchangeable, I'd be a little surprised.</p>

<p>I do have a XD-11 and a Minolta winder D, but someone asks me if I want the Leica Winder R4 to use with my XD-11. He doesn't know if it works either, but I think if it does work, it may look cool. I don't have much hope either, but I don't want to say no just because of my ignorance</p>

Although the XD and R4 share many common parts there may be enough differences to make it impossible.

<p>No, the Leica Winder R4 does not fit the XD-11 (or XD-7 in Europe, XD in Japan). I have both the Leica and the Minolta sets and no exchange is possible. The leica winder has three contacts and the Minolta has none (the guide pin functions as an electrical contact). Guides positions are different too.<br>

<p>However, the Leica bottom cover for the R4 fits perfectly well on the Minolta!</p>
