I took my first trip to Yellowsone National Park last week and had a great time taking photos. the picture I am submitting today is looking down the Canyons from the Lower Falls. It was about 2:00pm and partly cloudy. The sun came out behind a cloud and the rainbow that resulted was a pleasent surprise.
Really enjoyed the trip, but now I have abour four hundred and fifty photos to process. Can't wait to go back again.

00X69o-270247684.jpg.18a57753d738eff2aa8418cd5157a010.jpg

It's been so hot that I've spent the last few weeks working on indoor projects - learning Lightroom 3 and working with my new SB-600. Yesterday I forced myself to get out for 30 minutes. I walked over to the creek and ended up with a few pictures of the reflections on the water. I was very pleased with the reflections; I planned to go back today to work on getting the right exposure/focus of the leaf. But my experiment is postponed due to rain. I can't say I mind!

00X6AM-270249684.jpg.62c94964503e2f6d4b5d4472fc707d51.jpg

We have just been out taking some photos of my car but were cut short by an approaching storm - the sky went inky black and the smell of rain was in the air. We headed home and on a straight section of road I saw that we were traveling at the magic 'mile per minute' in my elderly Skoda - got to be worth a photo I thought. Simply flying!

00X6BU-270269684.JPG.0beaa112f2694c249b54cba6fef90585.JPG

Hi all,
Summerdays and weeks raining away over here... :-(
Still managed to sneak out at lunchbreak with my camera. I remembered having an old cheap and not very well respected Sigma 28-105 zoom laying around somewhere and decided to try it out on my new D700. Had just 15 minutes to hunt for something interesting to shoot and almost gave up until my eye fell on this big, strange looking...errr....'fungus-thing'...

00X6Ey-270325584.jpg.aecfb81721e02a68b059353380009075.jpg

Hello everyone..
I've been a bit busy at work lately and as a result lazy over the weekends to go out and take some photos. So here's another one from my trip to Stockholm last month. This was at Drottningholm Palace - the summer palace of the Royal Family. This is the second palace in Europe I've seen, that's inspired by the Versailles (the other one is in Vienna). I walked around the Baroque gardens and on my way back found this interesting shot.

a fun shot, I was running backwards away from this girl at a party while she tried to squirt me with a water gun and I retaliated by popping my flash in her eyes. I took many of these, and in this one, she was jumping through the air.
D90 12-24 f4 + SB-600 @ 20 mm 1/60 f8 ISO 1600
Not sure why I had it set for ISO 1600. Maybe that gave me faster flash recycle

00X6iB-270723584.JPG.784447b3adaf7aea63900f395b90e133.JPG

Hi Nikonites,
Sorry late entry, been clearing my feet after returning from a family holiday in Spain, mainly a relaxing time but made a few trips. One to Terra Natura has left me up to my neck in images that have got me excited, here's one...

Nikon D40X VR 55-200mm F/4-5.6G (68mm) F/5 @ 1/400s ISO 200

00X6j5-270733584.jpg.aa8250414c24deeefaf53842244987bc.jpg

Thanks a lot Allen. This is a perfect example why you want to use a clear protection filter. :-)

@ Shun -- back at you! she never managed to hit me in the lens. my main worry was running backwards into the building and falling down, which I did. bring it on, eh? :-)
btw, I've really enjoyed your photos and your analysis and insight of Nikon technology. thanks!
