ira casel
In Lightroom, is there any way to export jpgs based on the previews if the original image files are missing? I imported some files which were then lost in a hard drive crash. Thanks for your help.
mark_sirota1
Yes, use Marc Rochkind's LRViewer.
lauren_macintosh
Please tell me you had it backed up! I had a similar problem but it was caused by updating Lightroom 2.5 then to 2.7 I spent a good day on each time regaining my files the files are the its just locating them: you need to locate the Lightroom file and within it you will need open and hunt down those files watch out lrc.cat every time clicked on it it would reload itself but at the same time it would remove what was there: I wish I was better at explaining how to do this: but go slow and you should find what you need:
steve_wagner1
Wow, what a cool program. I assume it can't give you original size pics if you only ever rendered standard previews though?
mark_sirota1
Right, it can only extract the previews that are there.

Another possibility, if you've converted to DNG on Import and if you've updated the embedded JPEG preview, is to extract the preview out of the DNG files.
