Happy first Wednesday of August, Nikonistas. It must be the height of summer, because the local praying mantis community have worked out their territorial issues. This young lady was hanging out on my front door, waiting to ambush the UPS driver and my shipment of Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper. My favorite bug, no question. More personality than at least a few people I've met over the years. Have you and your Nikon gear anthropomorphized anything lately? Share a photo!

00X02R-265965684.thumb.jpg.720552d6522e030ac5881b8b57a6af7f.jpg

Greetings. I want to thank everyone for the many comments I received on last week's image. It is still triple digit temps (103 degrees) in Texas, so this week I pulled an image of a pelican I shot earlier in the year. Shot with a Nikon D80, IS) 400, f/8, 1/2000

00X02U-265965784.jpg.dc5df6a1a53410b9e25ea0d549d8c1cc.jpg

Happy Tuesday evening from Seattle. I haven't been on this thread for a really long time. We have been camping on Vancouver Island. Many many images to go through...what a beautiful place. This shot is from the early part of the trip on Salt Spring Island. Our friends latest additions...

00X02g-265969584.jpg.ee1a3cf373f1f9db6dc5f60b50740b03.jpg

Continuing the threme from the Bank of the West tennis tournament at Stanford last week, I captured this image during a match. I picked a seat behind the baseline and I realized that I really like this shadow. And then during post processing, I came up with the idea to view it as a vertical. The tennis player is Maria Sharapova.

Nikon D700 with 300mm/f4 AF-S @ 1/1600 sec, f4, ISO 200.

The following image in my tennis portfolio provides a more traditional view of that setting:

Hello Everyone...

Hope everyone's doing good.

I went to Stockholm last week to visit a friend and made sometime to go out one night and take a shot of the waterfront in Strandvagen. I was a bit suprised to get the photo I wanted in one shot.

00X03U-265977584.jpg.79a91105707fbc863bb167b67fe089f5.jpg

This is a traditional sunset shot from an area (Candiac) where I live - it looks over the St.lawrence river. Very little processing just added some contrast to the sky section.
Dieter - super processing and result;
Shun - very creative - love it
Greg - crystal Sharp
Lex- Looks fine and edible to me.

00X04H-265993584.jpg.90a8e1ee0bd5d2ca039fa9671648e860.jpg
