john_hoang
I have successfully photographed the moon with a spotting scope connected directly to my D60 via an adapter. But as soon as I put a 1.4x TC in between (2 different brands: Canon and Tamron), the camera gives me error 001 (meaning 'clean the contact pins'). I tried to cover all the pins, both in front and rear of the TC, and still got error 001. I wonder how can the camera knows there is a TC connected if all the pins are covered. Would someone help explaining or knows of a way to make use of the TC for my setup. I thank you for all of your help.
dean_peterson
I use extenders on a telescope with a t-mount.What i do is not to lock the extender all the way on the camera stop about 1/8 in short of the lock.Just be very carefull how you handle it or your camera could fall off.It works on film cameras. john_hoang
Thanks very much, Dean. It works. I am just amazed that how you could find this out. Thanks again. The moon will be bigger tonight! LOL.
