djphoto
I dropped my Canon 580-EXII flash and need to send to for repair. I have some Nikon SB-28 flashes that I use off-camera in multiple-light setups.
Would it be possible to use an SB-28 in the hotshoe of my Canon 5D or 20D without blowing the camera's circuits? I realize I would not have TTL and would have to work in manual or auto mode.
cabbiinc
http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html

I'd say it looks perfectly fine from a voltage stand point.
nick_brooks2
I agree voltage wise I'm sure it'll work fine obviously just make sure its set to manual and you're away!
djphoto
Thanks for your help! I gritted my teeth, screwed up my nerve, and put the SB-28 on my oldest and cheapest body, a 20D. It worked fine, and will also work on the Auto setting. Found it altogether easier to use and more consistent in Auto mode than the Metz 54MZ-4 I used to own.
