<p>my 50d is about a year old and lately when i take one photo i get three is it my card or something i am missing some setting or update. it doesnt happen right when i start shooting, but after 3or 4 shots i get 3 of the same images when iam shooting single images. thank you for any help</p>

Sounds like bracketing. If I remember correctly it's set when using the quick menu for exposure adjustment and the

accdentally hitting the rear dial.

<p>Braketing does not take three pictures for you. Sounds more like you chose continuous drive mode, either normal or hi . Press the <strong>AF-DRIVE</strong> button then using the <strong>back wheel</strong>, choose single picture (shows <strong>one</strong> rectangle) Hi Speed M ultiple (shows <strong>three rectangles</strong> and letters <strong>HI</strong> [6,3fps]) or standard multiple (shows <strong>three rectangles</strong> [3fps]) the other two modes available are time delays. In multiple mode drive, the camera will take pictures for as long as you press the shutter button within the limit imposed by the camera's buffer.</p>

<p>that was it ,changed the setting to one rectangle and back to normal,i dont know how it got that way, thats why i was confused but i will blame my granddaughter 13 mos old she will not mind, thank you for your help</p>

<p>maybe i sould ask my grandaughter how to use my camera, because the problem is back,now with one rectangle it still takes 3 pics iam going to remove the batt,will this reset the camera</p>

<p>No, this won't reset the camera. If you want it back to the factory settings like when you first bought it check on the buttom of the camera body. There should be a button to reset it. Or check in the manual how to reset it.</p>
