alessandro_fantini
Hi to all,
I've a problem using the DA* 300mm mounted on a K20d with its battery grip on a manfrotto 804rc2 head. With the battery grip mounted, the lever on the head, that blocks the rapid plate, it is impacting on the battery grip.
So to use DA* 300 on the tripod I must to remove the battery grip.
What is the solution?
I would like to avoid (now) to change the head with a ball head.
Thanks to all
andrewg_ny
Manfrotto has a huge amount of doo-dads but a rather hard and slow-to-browse website, I was hoping to find some sort of tripod foot extender. I did find this Manfrotto 393 (sort of an inexpensive gimbal mount) that would probably work but perhaps isn't as cheap as you might have hoped.

RRS appears to have a lot bits (not sure if MPR-1 would help?) that might be useful but probably really come into their own if you're using their plate system. Another possibility is to have a machine shop make you an extension plate.
alessandro_fantini
I've also thought about mounting the machine & lens reversed on the head, leaving the levers not close to me but on the side of the lens. Is it a safe choice? Are there any risks on the stability?
Certainly it isn't an easy way to working, but in this way I don't need to dismounting the battery grip every time.
