ann_clancy6
this is considered to be the top software. It might be helpful for you to post your results to get some help.

Did you take it into another piece of software to tweak, including adding contrast which HDR tends to need.?

szrimaging
It is all about how you do the tone mapping. Myself, I actually do multiple tone-mapping and then use them as different layers in photoshop. It is really just practice and playing around until you find the methods that get the results you want.

szrimaging
Always use RAW. Raw contains more data and will give you a higher quality 32-bit image than jpeg.

jerryrock
Photoshop CS5 in addition to HDR Pro features HDR toning for single images giving that HDR effect through the use of presets or manual control.

doubleconvex
Mahyar
I've been working on HDR for a wee bit now, and recently put together a series of video tutorials that display my workflow. I presented this recently at the Melbourne Camera Club, and while its not the right way or even the best way to create HDR photographs, maybe it might lend you some insight into how to achieve the effect that you may be looking for in HDR photography. The link is http://www.doubleconvexphotography.com/photo/tutorials/hdr-workflow-video.
In case you're interested in the kind of effects that I achieve, visit my website at http://www.doubleconvex.com
