bruce_erickson1
I have a coolscan 5000 and inadvertently left it on for several days. What damage could this cause? It was warm but not hot to the touch. I scanned a slide with it and it seems o.k.
While on the subject of scanners, does anyone know if the 9000 manufacture has been discontinued too?
roger_smith4
None whatsoever. LEDs don't generate much heat, aren't on when the scanner is idle, and the scanner should put itself in stand-by mode. The only thing you've done is waste electricity.
Nikon still lists the 9000 as a current scanner.

lars_bell
We have had Nikon Scanners on for over a year at a time running continuously without any damage or degradation.
