Filter for Sigma 12-24

<p>after days! between 16-35 II and sigma 12-24, I'm going to buy this lens but there is a problem of using filter with this lens Is there any solution for using filters for this lens ?<br>

<p>unless there's some strange third-party contraption in the works (which i doubt), the only way to use filters with the sigma is to make use of the rear slot for gels. it's a nice lens, though; i like mine a lot.</p>

<p>It has a two-part lens cap, like some fisheye lenses have. Part is a tube that extends forward to clear the front element; on this sits the other part, a normal lens cap. If you're using the lens on an APS-C camera, you can leave the tube portion on the lens, and put filters on it - I believe it fits 82mm filters; I can check that when I get home.</p>

<p>For full-frame use, only the rear holder will work.</p>

<p>From what I've read you can forget about using a polarizing filter on the lens if that's what you intend. Even if it were to fit, it will give you a weird mottled effect at wide focal lengths, not the sky darkening effect you want.</p>

<p>I checked and the ring is threaded for 82mm filters. Since this question seems to come up a lot, I made a video demonstration of the lens cap -</p>

<p>And I agree with Wayne re: the polarizers, I doubt they would work well on a lens that wide.</p>

I want use it on FF body and as I found Polarize doesnot work well on it.<br>

I will use ND filters.<br>

What is the Rear slot ?!</p>
