alexander_c1
Hello all.

This is driving me crazy and I can't figure out a setting to make this work.

This is what I am shooting with: 5DMII, 580EX II, PocketWizard Plus II Transceiver.

The first photo was shot:
Manual
Shutter: 320
Aperture: 4.0
ISO: 250

Flash: manual (no custom settings just set to manual)

Second photo:
Manual
Shutter: 200
Aperture: 4.0
ISO: 250

Flash: manual (no custom settings just set to manual)

Is there a setting on the flash or camera that will allow me to shoot in high shutter speeds and not having that black bar at the bottom appear? I know it has something to do with curtain etc and I'm being lazy this Saturday afternoon. I have my photo books down in the basement hehehehe don't want to make the trip down.

Thanks all in advance for your feedback.
Former P.N Member
HSS (also known as High Speed Sync)
scott_ferris
You can't do that with those Picket Wizards. You are taking a picture of your shutter. HSS would work if you had the TT Flex system but with the Plus II you are limited to regular max sync, 1/200.

jason_hall5
Yep, High Speed Sync only works when you have TTL communication with the flash. You need the Poketwizard Flex or a Mini.

Jason
alexander_c1
Thanks gents! 1/200 is ok for what I will be using them for. If I need faster I will look into the Flex system.
