richterjw
You could get the BP-200 battery pack, which accepts 4 AA batteries or a 2CR5 battery. JDMvW
But you were just asking whether to buy a Canon or a Nikon, now you're asking about batteries for a Canon?

I don't know about battery packs for cheaper batteries on the Rebel 2000, but I know that the battery pack eats a bunch of AA batteries very quickly on the digital Rebel cameras. You might try rechargeable batteries to cut costs, but one-time use batteries can be very expensive when you need to replace them after a day or less of shooting.

BTW, when a person posts without ever looking at or replying to the answers on a topic, we call them "drive-by posters ". Give us a sign that you're actually looking at the answers, and we'll be more inclined as a group to give them. Even the simple word thanks , would let us know that you are actually still there.

Besides, look at the statements of purpose and so on that you agreed to when you signed up here. This is an archived site, so stuff that is written as though it were a text message or tweet that will disappear into thin air after a while (lots of people wish they would, anyhow :p) is going to look pretty stupid by the time you grow up.

panos_voudouris
A pair of CR2 batteries for my Rebel 2000 cost me a whole of $4 to buy and will last a year or more. I'm not sure I follow how that is expensive enough to warrant a mod to the camera or buying a BP-200...?
kari v
BP-200 makes the camera much nicer to handle and rechargeable batteries last a good while. I recommend it even if you can find cheap CR2s.
