Nikon S2 High Speed Dial

So is this a junk camera? I'd say if you're trying to do a general cleaning, don't disassemble the camera at all. Do a good surface clean only. The S2 is a fine camera and worth keeping. If you get stumped at this point, it's just going to get more complicated as you go. And if you get stuck and can't reassemble the camera when you're done and take it in pieces to a camera tech, many will refuse to do the job for you.

My advice to you is to take it to a good tech and have them do a CLA on it for you. Shouldn't run more than $150 or so. Alpine Camera in Spokane, WA is a good place to call. www.alpinecamera.com. Glen is a good friend of mine and an excellent technician.

Hi Dave,
This is not junk. It's a pretty good camera and all works well except a bit dirty.
Cosmetically it is good as well - very little and minor ding and scratch type of thing.
I am not trying to do CLA. Just general cleaning of the surface and buttons.
Thanks for the info.
