Viewfinder blurry when using 16-35mm on my 40D...

<p>Hello all!<br>

First post on these boards, but as I tired to search online (and not sure about the how to word my situation either) I did not have any luck..</p>

<p>I have just bought the 16-35mm for my 40D body, and the pictures come out quite sharp, however, the viewfinder for some reason seems quite blurry, and just for tests, I tried to take close pictures of words, and I can barely read them..</p>

<p>Does this have anything to do with a ultra wide lens on a crop sensor or what not? The viewfinder works fine on my 24-70, as well as my other lens..so it just seems really odd to me, that I almost cannot see what I am focusing on..</p>

<p>Have you tried any of your other lenses after using the 16-35? I once accidentally turned the diopter adjustment dial while changing a lens (don't ask me how).</p>

<p>Took me quite a while to figure out why my viewfinder suddenly wouldn't become sharp anymore...</p>

<p>Yep, spin that diopter adjustment dial. If that doesn't do it, the focusing screen may need to be reseated.</p>

<p>Probably diopter - my 16-35 F2.8 II works fine on my 7D apart from the angle change the images looks the same as the 5DII so there should be no lens issue.</p>

<p>Hahah....it was the diopter...and like Quintin said..I have no idea why or how I adjusted it...<br>

Thanks for the quick advice all, now I can enjoy my lens in all its glory without guessing what I am shooting at ;)</p>
