joannasfoto
You mean- if it will focus?
Tamron lists on their website, that the version for Nikon mount has motor build in into lens.
So as far as focusing it will work just fine.
Hope this helps!
Cheers!
Joanna
eric_arnold
whoa, wait a minute...there are 2 versions one w/motor, one w/out. make sure you have the later version, with the model # as specified.
ronald_smith6
Be mindful of the 1.5x crop factor on any Nikon DX body, you won't be able to get that wide using the Tamron lens........I could never understand the rationale for people using 24/28-xx zooms on DX bodies.
ph1l0s0phe
I have this lens (Tamron SP 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD-IF Autofocus Zoom Lens for Nikon AF BIM) for my D60 (which like the D40 lacks an internal motor) and it autofocuses just fine. This appears to be the only version of that lens that Adorama sell.
On a personal note I got the lens a month ago and I am very pleased with it. It snaps into focus and the constant f/2.8 along the zoom length is very useful. For street photography, even for a DX sensor, I find 28-75 to be a useful range.
