Filter size for Nikon 90SW Lens

Hi,

 

I am pondering the idea of buying a filter for my Nikon 90mmSW lens

(F8). According to Nikon, this is a 70mm filter size.

 

My question is: Should I simply be looking at 70mm filters --or-- do

I need to look at 70mm filters which are "extra wide" (as advertised

on the B&H web site)? Will both types of filters work without

vignetting?

Also, I think that the filter size is 67mm. I have since used the 77mm filter that I was wondering about, and I noticed no vignetting.<br>

The lens your looking at has a 67mm filter, I'm pretty sure. You can always buy 77mm filters and use a step up ring instead of paying for those "oh my God" priced extra wide ones.

Robert, I have used a Nikor 90/F:8 for several years. It takes 67mm filter. In my experience even 67mm polarizer do not vignette (but don't stack two filters).
