I'm in the market for an uncoated 50mm-100mm leica M mount lens. Is

there one that is more attainable than others. I know that the 90mm

Thambar is very collectible and expensive. Is there an uncoated

lens that gives good performance without the big price tag?

There is no such thing as "an uncoated leica M lens", except those whose coatings are removed (on purpose or not.)

Lots of available, affordable coated LTM models (from Leitz, Canon, Nikon, Voigtlander/Cosina, etc) or even M lenses. Why look for uncoated lenses? They really aren't good shooters, not to mention doubtful mechanical conditions. Are you a collector?

You need to look for a lens from the 1930's. The 90mm Elmar of this vintage is a nice lens as is the 50mm Elmar. The 35mm is much inferior to the later Summaron but useable. Try to find something on Ebay. The early coated lenses had a bluish cast which shows up in photos of them. The uncoated ones won't look blue in the photo. Some lenses of the period were coated later, the service was widely available well into the 1960's, so serial numbers aren't a good indication of coated or uncoated. Post WWII almost all lenses, any brand, were coated.
