nick_anthony
I want to get a pocket wizard system. I have the sekonic light meter and i like the idea of having a built in trigger. The mini tt1 and flex tts looks very cool and i like that i can use it with my 580 ex flash. but what am i giving up by getting the mini tt1 and not the PlusII? I think the minitt1 can fire all pocket wizard receivers. Any thoughts?
kenny_c
I've heard alot of issues with the mini TT1s, shielding issues and unreliability. I went with the old pocket wizards.
angel_bocanegra
Yes, the mini tt1 can fire all PWs, but the flex tts are really meant for larger monolights or pack and strobes. Mini tt1 are for shoe mount flash, but why would you need that? There are far more cheaper options available on Ebay(1 tranceiver with 4 receivers for less than 50 bucks). I would just buy a canon st-e2 transmitter, works just as good as the PW for shoe mount plus you get full ETTL and more creative options. I would rather invest in some cheap three light monolight setup, which can cost just about the same if you went with the PW kit tranceiver receiver.
nick_anthony
I think the st-e2 is infrared which I believe means you need to have line-of-sight. I know the mini tt1 has full integration with with ETTL. I would like to check out the 1 trans & 4 receivers if you have the name.
