brett_davis1
The built-in flash on my N70, which I believe is out of warranty, has ceased to function. The flash emits a tiny whine when I flip it up, but doesn't fire. The battery indicator shows that the batteries are fine, but I'm wondering if maybe they've fallen low enough not to power the flash, but to power everything else (everything else seems to work fine). I don't really want to shell out for new batteries just to test this theory. Has anyone else had trouble with the N70's built-in flash? It's pretty expensive to fix, probably about $150 or so. Thanks.
hkbmac
Hi Brett, I believe that your camera would cease to function if the power was low enough to stop the flash from charging. But $10 for a set of batteries is a pretty cheap test, especially when you are thinking about a $150 (at least) repair bill. But honestly, think about buying an external flash, you can get a sunpack that works with Nikon TTL for around that price, and it will blow away the tiny built in flash. brett_davis1
I have an SB-22 already, but it's not as convenient as the built-in flash. I would probably just get the tiny SB-30 rather than getting the N70 built-in fixed.
chuck
Not sure if SB-30 supports 3-D multi-sensor flash. Besides, its built quality os cheap ass.
