prinosphotography
This looks really great. I figured this camera was going to have excellent high iso performance, but the color and tone at candle-lit ISO 12,800 was impressive. I didn't want to leave my full frame 1dsII's, but maybe this one would have me considering a crop body again.
buffdr_rasouliyan
I was just getting ready to order my new crop body. I was upgrading my 40D to 7D this Friday! Now I HAVE to wait to get my hands on the 1DMKiv. I'm happy with my full frame ISO but the AF is what makes me want to wait and order the new 1D series. Great review, thanks. v/r Buffdr
ilkka_nissila
To my eye the images appear to have little colour, and the skin is very noisy/artefacty. Small pixel syndrome I guess.

As to small pixel syndrome, the pixels are about the same size as a 10mp sensor in the 1.6 crop....and I've never heard anyone comment about those being small. No, it looks like Canon has a true winner with this one. I'd love to be using this in conjunction with my 7D for weddings.
wedding-photography-denver
Well, it does look good, but if you gave Jeff a P&S it would look good.

I am glad to see Canon getting back in the swing and just hope they have dealt with the slew of issues I had when using their gear. I have not seen anything here though, that looks as good as the D3s so far. Just my HO.

Now the 7D is more of a step forward for most wedding shooters I suspect, though not AS good as the Mk4 promises to be.
farceur_coince
It does look good.
Obviously I can't tell for sure, but this and other reviews of pre-prod. models seem to be positive on the ISO handling.
Thinking of selling the 5D MK II's and going for two 1D MK IV's. APS-H... I could live with that.
Honestly, the weather sealing, autofocus and fps (though less of that) makes it really appealing. Not so appealing is the extra $4-6 grand I'll have to fork out.
