Corrupted images: Help!

<p >“I can view [the images] on my camera for about a second, and then the image turns garbled. I can view the thumbnails on my computer, but when you open the image file, a message appears about how it's been corrupted/truncated, and it looks messed up. Often the top of it is fine, but the bottom is a mess. I just want to know what is causing the problem so that I can avoid this situation in the future! I've given up on retrieving my images.”</p>

<p >I don’t have any experience with this kind of thing, so I thought I’d throw it out to the experts at Photo Net.</p>

<p>Martin, has your friend tried swapping SD cards? I would suspect bad contacts on the camera side if it happens on every card. If it's only on one card, then it might be either a defective card or intermittent contact(s) with the camera.</p>

<p>Let us know if the above fails to isolate the problem.</p>
