ned
We had a beautiful day in Colorado and it gave me a chance to visit the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. I spent about two hours walking around with the K-x and a FA77mm taking photos to give you a feeling for the place, as well as seeing how the K-x performed with this lens.
I posted about 30 photos on my blog, and if you're interested, you can check them out K-x and FA77 Photos here.
Cheers,
Ned
jeremy_corbin
Excellent set Ned! I haven't been to that museum. My last trip was to see Buffalo Bill. I might have to not go quite as far and see the railroad!

miserere_mei
Thanks for posting, Ned. I really like this type of abstracts. I have a thing for rust... :-)

I'm liking the K-x more everyday, and I don't even own one! :-D

john_smith237
Hi Ned. Just wondering what batteries you were using with your K-x and if you had experienced any battery-related issues such as inconsistent readings with the power meter or failure of the camera to power-up immediately after the batteries are changed.
ned
Miserere, thanks for your feedback and we must have similar likes, as that " E-rust" abstract was my favorite image from the session. I've already saved it as a TIF file and plan to print it on some 13x19 Epson Velvet Fine Art paper.
ned
Hi John, I was using some new Maha Powerex 2700 mAh NiMH batteries. I previously posted comments on my blog that I'd noticed some folks were having problems with the K-x recognizing different battery types at start-up. As I said, we'd be looking into this. We do listen to feedback from the market, and at this point that's all I'm really able to say.
jacques c pelletier
Nice shots, Ned.
That represents very well the capabilities of the Kx, matched with an excellent lens.
Too bad you didn't have the K7 as well on that day. I would have liked to see some shots that way.
BTW, do you answer to all of your comments on your Blog?
JP
john_shriver
The pictures have a lot of impact. They are the antithesis of railfan style, up-close, not showing the whole vehicle, and that's really part of what makes them startling to me.
john_smith237
Thank you for your reply Ned and also for referring me to your blog. I have added it to my reading list. I have not used Maha Powerex NiMH batteries although I have used Uniross Hybrio and Panasonic Infinium LSD NiMHs in my K100D Super with great success. I was hoping these batteries would work equally well in the K-x. Keep up the good work!
davidmantilla
Ned, Great shots! Excellent color and very sharp too. Was wondering how the K-x performed. I have a k10D and was looking to upgrade to get improved noise control at higher ISOs. Will need to take a closer look at the K-x after seeing your photos!
