joseph_wisniewski
The Nikon F100 can meter with any lens on an adapter, as long as you're satisfied with stopped down metering.

However, the Nikon mount is not well suited to adapters, and the adapters for FD, PK, etc. lenses typically have a lens element that acts as a 1.2x teleconverter (a problem for wide angle lenses) and degrades image quality (a problem for all lenses).
Matthew Currie
Remember you cannot get most other lenses to focus to infinity on a Nikon without an adapter which contains optics to compensate. I am assuming that any adapter in question here would result in an entirely uncoupled lens, without automatic diaphragm or meter coupling - equivalent to a manual or preset T-mount lens or a manual bellows.

Any lens or mounting accessory that is safe to mount on an F100 (i.e. does not conflict with the AI tab or the mirror) will allow you to meter on an F100 in stop-down mode, using spot or center weighted pattern. Matrix metering is not available for any lens without electronic connections. Metering will work with either manual or aperture priority exposure mode, but not with shutter priority or program.
