kin_lau
Even the old 10D can handle the new 64gig CF's, so I think your 40D will be fine. My 20D handles a 32gig card just fine.

mark_allen10
I use SanDisk 4GB Extreme 4 as well as 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB Extreme 3 30mb/sec on my 40D without problems. Rob Galgalbraith (http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/camera_multi_page.asp?cid=6007-9257 ) has 40D benchmarks which are a little old but still useful. The newer version of Extreme 3 is 30 mb/sec and runs about as fast as a 40D will go without being overly expensive. The Extreme 4 cards tend to be quite a bit more expensive but only a little faster on a 40D.
