markus_muller
What scanner would you buy?
Of course the imacon is a lot better for small film formats, but what about 4x5 inch? Do you think the imacon is still a lot better?

jeff_guthrie
Personally, I like the Epson 750 Pro. I bought one a few months ago, and I can't find anything bad to say about it. The Epson can scan up to 8x10, and it works great for my 35mm slides and negatives.
john_liberty
That link goes to a very detailed scanner comparison. Thanks for putting it up Sheldon. I might also mention that even my crummy old $100 Epson 2450 does a good job w/ 4x5 negs, especially transparencies. For B&W I've given up on scanning and always prefer an enlarger print to an inkjet.
james_mitchell8
My Precission II just died yesterday :(

... but if I had the cash I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

(edit: It was great for 4x5's)
