P6000

<p>does anyone know the current status of the P6000. I recently noticed a sharp drop in price, went to buy one and my dealer says they are no longer available and that Nikon has no plans for a replacement model??</p>

<p>It's a model that never took off. My son picked one up at Office Max for $99. Good little walk around camera with a 5x lens.<br>

Shoot RAW at base ISO (or at worst 200) and process with NX2 and you'll be very surprised how good the P6000's output is. I'm astonished at what a bad rap this camera has had. It's a small sensor P&S and shares the many limitations that they all exhibit but it's well built, has GPS (slow, battery hungry)... $99 ! At this price I'l take five please - and I already have one.</p>

<p>I found one in barely used mint condition for $185 on ebay including an extra batter and all the papers and cables and chargers. I love it! I think the image quality is outstanding for a small digicam. Much better than my little Panasonic which I am giving to my wife. It's a keeper for sure. </p>
