Although this picture was taken in Botswana in April I only processed it in color this week. It's part of a 90-picture series that I first worked on in black and white;and the new color versions can be seenby clicking here

Except for the landscapes, which were taken with the Leica M8.2, the wildlife pictures were taken with the marvelous D300 and the 70-200mm/f2.8-VR lens.

jose--great start, as usual. the bird looks a bit Hitchcockian, however.

mike c.--great urban landscape shot. very reflective.

ton--minimal and restrained. less is more, sometimes.

jana--terrific portrait, love the colors.

alejandro--you've captured the fluidity and sense of motionnicely.

pedro--ISO 6400??!! AYFKM?

darko--if i stare at your photo long enough i can see those kids grow

jeanneann--beautiful yet creepy. but more beautiful than creepy.

bernard--another argument for simplicity.

sjoerd--there's something very "logan's run" about that shot. i love everything about it except for the name brand on the helmet. you might want to try PS-ing that out and seeing if it doesnt result in a stronger shot.

steven vH--very clever. nice take on a cliche topic (guitars and amps)

aaron b.--very powerful image. what's the story behind that?

tolga--that pic would have worked well in the recent "urban/industrial" thread on street/doc

miles--cool martian landscape

cees--very aesthetically-pleasant geometry

jens--lil would be proud of you, i think. like the blue touches.

tim h--evokes nostalgia. like the soft glow effect.

matt l--could be the cover of a cabela's catalog. thanks for sharing the deets on your lighting.

lawrence--above-average macro shot, great colors

roger, awesome bokeh--imight have placed the bird off-center, though

hasse--great pic, love his expressive face and the detail

ken--simply a magical shot

eric a--another urban industrial candidate

thomas--havent seen the Wall from that perspective before

alex f--i'm a sucker for mendhi pics. yours is nicely lit.

rene--the reflection at the bottom really adds to that fireworks shot, giving it a sense of scale and perspective--plus great colors and balanced use of negative space. can i have more guidance, please?

aguinaldo--recognized the vibrant d80 colors right away. great wide shot!

shun--a deceptively masterful shot. it works backwards, forwards, horizontal, or vertical. should make a great large print.

gary m--awwww...

carey m--very cool shot. like the people's expressions and how the eye is drawn to the other shooter. could be a nikon ad.

waldemar--not much of a flower/bug guy but that shot is spectacular.

larry g--very cool shot

as always thanks to all commentors and contributors for another inspirational thread. y'all are the best.

Well, Wednesday has snuck up again and found me scrabbling around for something different. No Macro, no Portrait...just a close up of some Summer goodness...
Totally blown away by the quality and diversity of the shots this week. Will try take some time to have a good look through them.

Amazing photographs everyone. I feel lucky to get to enjoy such a variety of unique work every week.

Here is my humble contribution for the week. Just a shot of my sunglasses with their case sitting on a CD album. My intention was solely to play around with the lens wide open.

00UZAl-175193784.jpg.09658728f96611b363fc2378d9d1f991.jpg

Hello my dear Nikon WedNEsDAy PiC #39 colleagues,

I'm late this week too due travelling at outside of city. I captured a bird cage today that its owner was resting while it hanged at the roof. Captured couple of hours ago and converted from RAW with NX2. Hope you like it. I appreciated for ;

Emma. (Nikon D700. <strike>Nikkor 70-200 f2.8</strike> @85mm 1/125 f1.8 ISO 720)

I was wondering how Eddy got f1.8 out of the 70-200mm/f2.8. :-) I checked the EXIF data, and it shows the lens was a 85mm/f1.8 wide open at f1.8.

I took this pic a short while back on my third trip to the Philippines. This was just a handheld shot taken from one of the MRT stations in Manila overlooking the tracks. I forgot to remove my UV filter before I took this one so notice the random reflections in the photo. Taken with a Nikon d90 and 50mm f/1.8 lens.

00UZDR-175215684.jpg.2726b417e952dc0037c17b620521d7d1.jpg

Great shots everyone. The inspiration provided by everyone posting a WedNEsDAy PiC has been tremendous. There are truly too many excellent photos to comment on. I feel lucky just to get mine posted on Wednesday, mainly due to work schedule.

Following Jose's choice of subject, this was taken in March 2009 at the Roosevelt Lake Visitor Center in Tonto Basin, Tonto National Forest NE of Phoenix, AZ. I set the ISO to 1600, but everything else was full auto. Hand held and no flash. As with most visitor center's I've visited, this display was quite dark except for the overhead spot light.

00UZED-175221584.JPG.e2c4e79a5369d47228619399b44492c2.JPG
