daniel_kim7
Hello I have a Pen EES-2 and I just tried putting on my Canon Speedlite 580EXII on it to see if it would sync. It does! Now I know that Pen EES-2 automatically sets the shutter speed at 1/40 secs. So I know that ETTL probably doesn't work *wink* I intend to bounce the flash off of a ceiling, so on manual setting what is a good power to use it? Thanks in advance. Daniel.
john_robison3
I'm not familiar with the Canon speedlight but with any manual setting you would divide the distance into the guide number to find the aperture to set on the camera. The instruction book should give the guide number for various power settings. If you want to bounce the flash off a ceiling then, roughly, add 2 stops to the guide number recommended aperture. Thats for a average height 8~9 ft white or light colored ceiling. Does this speedlight have regular, on flash sensor automation in addition to it's TTL auto? If it does, that would be the best way to use it with the EES-2.
