New release of Hugin, open source panorama software.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just to let you know: Hugin , the free open source program for panorama stitching (including HDR) has just seen a new release. There's tons of new features, including batch processing, and a much smoother user interface through an OpenGL powered fast preview.
I think it's an amazingly powerful program, and it has made great progress over the past years add user-friendliness to the already plentiful fine-tuning possibilities for advanced users. And best of all of course: it's free.
This is hot off the press, there's no Windows or Mac installers available right now, but they'll be coming in a few days. Linux users can already download a source tarball, others should keep an eye on http://sourceforge.net/projects/hugin/files/

cheers, Allard

Hi Joseph,

There's a bunch of installers available. I built one and it's on my website http://allardkatan.net/misc/hugin/Hugin08_release_Win32_setup.exe . Ad Huikeshoven built an even newer version (4012): http://hugin.huikeshoven.org/ , which I think only differs from 0.8 in the russian translation.
If you want to build it yourself check out http://wiki.panotools.org/Build_Hugin_for_Windows_with_SDK . There is a recent version of the SDK, thanks to Guido Kohlmeyer, that should allow you to build it without much problems.
