bob_brazell
Anybody know which compact, lightweight point & shoot cameras have 10 MP or higher resolution, good lens, and the capability to trigger the shutter remotely (electric cable release jack). I want to mount on RC aircraft for aerial photography and must be able to trigger shutter remotely.
seismiccwave
I do a lot of aerial photography with my Sigma DP1. No remote shutter. I have to mount a servo to push the shutter button. However the image quality for aerial photo is top notch.
You have a lot of choices in the small sensor point and shoot. Most Canons and Nikons can be triggered with various remote trigger. I have used the BLIP remote successfully with my Canon G9. It also worked with my Canon A640.
The Panasonic LX3 doesn't have remote and so are most Sony's point and shoots. I have not played with the Fuji cameras. IMHO stick with the Canon except for the digital elph. Also the Nikon Coolpix are well supported by remote trigger.

robert lee
Try for one of the Canon compacts supported by CHDK.

Look through this http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/USB_Remote_Cable to see how the camera can be triggered via the USB port.
michael_burke2
Couldn't find a Coolpix what supported an external shutter release. Know of one?

http://pa.photoshelter.com/c/naturalight
