wedding-photography-denver
Hi Ellie,

I advertised with them for a couple of years and had a tough time getting cancelled. In fact I paid for an extra three months while they "processed" the cancellation and lost it and did it again etc.

Never again.
betty_lowrey2
I would stay far far away from The Knot. They're ungodly expensive, and their high pressure tactics to keep an ad and buy an ad really turned me off.
l_e
I started the cancellation process 3 months in advance. Every week we sent them email and left message stating we were going to cancel the the effective date. About a week before the date we sent them daily emails and daily phone messages. Turns out, it still took them another month to get the cancellation correct. After the cancellation date passed we emailed and called a few times a day for 'status' updates. We just sent out a form email so we didn't waste anymore time.

We took such a harsh approach because of stories we had heard from other photographers.

About a week before the cancellation actually happened someone asked for a copy of the cancellation email we sent. I image they were a bit annoyed when I forward 80+ cancellation emails to them.
michaelchadwickphotography
Sounds like a case where you just have to send them the proper cancellation email, save it, and tell your billing credit card not to accept any charges from them after that date. How annoying. I advertise with them currently, but will most definitely keep this in mind if I decide to cancel my advertising.
