Recommended sources for second-hand RF gear in Tokyo ??

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'll be in Tokyo next week (as of tuesday), and I've been contemplating treating my trusty M3 to a used 15 or 21 mmm Voigtlaender. Would anyone know what the best bet would be ?? Last time, I was in tokyo, I went to MAP camera, so that would be on my short list - any other proposals ??

Thanks :-)

Soeren

Mapcamera is a must, I never been there though, but I've been buying from them through their internet shop for years.
The other shops you shouldn't miss is Yodobashi and Bic camera, they mainly sell new gears but have a used section.
Most of the Leica specialist shops are in Ginza district.

Lemon Camera for starters. When are you up there? I'll be in Tokyo on business and will have time until 5pm on July 19th. Hoping to get a few buddies together perhaps near Lemon Camera in the Ginza. Will be writing to them presently.

We'll only be in Tokyo until the 15th - then we are off to Okinawa for a few days. But thanks for your offer, Alex, I would have loved to meet up with you, since you come across as very kind and knowledgeable here :-)

But I have located Lemon and MAP on a - well - map so far. Any other suggestions ??

Soeren

Bic and Yodobashi in Tokyo don't have used sections but in Osaka probably. I find Ginza shops to be on the high side for Leica but for CV maybe you'll find a deal if you walk around. If you really want something exotic and don't mind paying for it then Ginza is the place. MAP Camera is definitely your best bet and for bargains all around you must go to Fujiya near the Nakano Station. Nakano Station (中野駅) is located on the JR Chūō Main Line in Nakano,Tokyo, just west of Shinjuku.

Similar question here, I'll be going to Japan for a year in September, having just acquired my M-body, I'm interested in building up my lens collection while I'm there.
From what I've heard, there tends to be a premium for the German stuff, but can I assume I'll have more options/better deals when buying CV lenses?
