Canon Instant rebate

<p>I see that Canon is offering instant rebates. I just purchased a lens from Adorama. I have downloaded the coupon from Canon. But the coupon doesn't contain any information regarding sending in proof of purchase etc. Did I automatically receive the discount when I purchased the lens? There is nothing mentioning this on my invoice. The obvious thing to do is call Adorama but there are closed today and I am leaving for vacation soon.<br>

Any insight you could provide would be appreciated.<br>

<p>Check their website for this particular lens--it will say if the price already includes the INSTANT rebate for qualifying lenses. Only Canon USA lenses qualify, not the gray market ones.</p>

<p>Due to shortage in demand especially L lenses, The current price after rebate is actually higher than the price before the rebate program started.</p>

<p>You got the rebate in the form of a reduced price when you bought the lens (assuming it's a USA lens covered by the current program). That's why it's "instant" and you don't need to send in any forms to claim it.</p>

<p>I wouldn't be too surprised if in some cases the rebate may just more or less cancel out a price increase. In other cases the price is lower than it was before the rebate program started. In every case the price will be going up when the rebate program ends!</p>
