dxphoto
Hi, I am playing with this nice machine and I have a few questions.
1) The filenames on the card. I thought I saw it some where online saying the file names can be saved with datetime as part of the name, or at least in different folder based on the date... I thought it was cool, but I cannot see it can be done... anyone has any ideas?
2) I guess my laptop is not fast enough so the HD movie cannot be played properly on my PC. any suggestion on how to tackle this?

Thanks.
Overall, this is a very impressive camera! too bad i didn't get the 24-105 lens.
PuppyDigs
You need to use EOS Utility or an aftermarket app to upload and rename the files as you like. It is not done in-camera. When you place your CF card in a reader EOS Utility recognizes the card and automatically opens. YOu can then set file location and naming preferences.

As far as playing back HD movie files, you need to install the latest QuickTime Pro and components. HD movies play fine on my old Macbook Pro (only 2.2GHz CoreDuo 2, 4GB RAM), so you don't need the latest and greatest.
Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. bill_mussett1
Canons ImageBrowser will also playback 5DII video. QuickTime Player is available free for Mac and Win; give it a try too.
edrodgers
Actually, a Mac will do a better job with these files than a high end PC will. The codec is different for Windows, and it does not match the perfomance of the native Mac version.
