Does anyone make a Quick Release type Speedring for a Octogon Softbox ?

<p>I see that Chimera makes Quick Release type Speedrings for rectangular or square softboxes (4 Rods), but does anyone make one for a Octogon style softbox (8 rods) ?</p>

<p>Chimara, as far as I know, is too responsible to make a speedring for an octagon style box. They're heavier than rectangular boxes. Octagon boxes tend to be large: 84 inches (7 feet) is common, while 6x4 is considered huge for a rectangular box, and is already straining the limits of what you can hang on a speedring. I've seen 4x6 Westcott softboxes tear the speedring bayonettes of an Elinchrom apart. Aside from the size, octaboxes have twice as many rods as a rectangular box, for even more weight. All in all, do it right, mount the light in the box, and commit that light to the box.</p>

<p>Amvona makes a 5 foot one that attaches with a speed ring. ;)</p>
