Camera Raw question

<p>On a PC into which folder should I put the ACR plug-in file in order to upgrade my CR version? Do I have to delete the older version as well?<br /> <br /> Thanks,<br>

<p>The exact location might depend on the version of PS / PS-Elements you use. The easiest way to go is to locate the old CameraRaw file "Camera Raw.8bi" in the directory tree of the PS/PSE version you work with, save the existing version to a location outside of this directory tree, and replace the file in the directory tree with the newer one. For older versions of PS/PSE keep in mind that not every version of ACR will run. You need to check Adobes webpages and check what the latest version of ACR is that is compatible to the SW you use.</p>

<p>Can't find it...any suggestions? I also have LR2 installed if that makes a difference. Reason I ask is that when I do an Edit w/ PS3 from LR I get a dialoge box telling me to update my ACR to 4.5 or higher.</p>

<p>Adobe do provide comprehensive instructions for updating the ACR plugin at the same place you download it from on the Adobe web site. E.g. for CS4 it goes in:<br>

Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats</p>

<p>And yes, you should only ever have _ONE_ Camera Raw plug-in installed, the most recent version. Renaming will not be good enough, you need to copy the new version over the old version.</p>
