My dad just gave me this very cool lens. He purchased it used and it came with everything but the booklet. I poked around NikonUSA but can't find one. Where can I download the booklet for this lens?
Thanks,

There are two versions of the Nikon 80-200mm/f2.8 that is AF-D. The earlier one has push/pull zoom and the latter on has a built-in tripod collar:

Those lenses are probably simple enough to figure out that you don't have to have the manual. There should be a switch to let you select AF and MF (manual focus), and there is a switch or ring to limit the focusing range to reduce the amount of AF "hunting."

Do you have any specific question?

Unfortunately, to my knowledge Nikon has never uploaded the pdf manual for the AF 80~200/2.8D ED to any of their sites worldwide. I'm not sure why that is, as it is a current model, and Nikon USA has pdf instruction manuals for just above every other current lens (plus many that are discontinued) at http://support.nikontech.com/

If you have the current version with the built in tripod collar and separate control rings for zoom and focus (AF 80~200/2.8D ED MkIII ) then I can send you jpeg scans of the instruction manual. Just drop me a note here .

Hey folks, thanks for the responses. I don't have any specific questions. I do have the push-pull zoom version. I just have always liked to have manuals for my hardware. But yes, the lens is straight forward. I sure like it so far.
Thanks,

Mark - these two scans might be of interest to you, as they cover the most common questions that come up with respect to this lens. They are from the Mk III version manual, but would also apply to the Mk II version that you have.

A-M ring function:

Focus Limit switch, minimum aperture lock:

Enjoy the lens.

Hi Mark-
Try John S. Craig at www.craigcamera.com or john@craigcamera.com. He claims to have 12,000 manuals in stock. I've purchsed some pretty obscure lens and camera manuals from him over the years.
Hope this helps. Great lens BTW. I have a newer version and love it.
