nachi_abrams
I am finding, comaring photos from the 40D vs 50D, the colors are much more accurate with the 40D. Colors on the 50D have a very yellowish tint both indoors and outdoors. Anyone have this experience?

PuppyDigs
Nope. Colors are basically the same. However they are different cameras and require slightly different post production for best results. In other words you can't expect to buy a new camera and use exactly the same tweaks and expect the same results. You need to learn new tweaks. In this respect my 5D and 20D were no different.

Open the RAW file in DPP. Adjust either WB and/or color tone to taste. Set these same parameters in-camera. Test and tweak if needed. Save you custom profile and set as default.
Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
john_manganiello
Use a camera's "Custom WB Set" before taking photos. Light change - change your Custom WB setting with the ''white paper shot'' each change of light. Had the 40 and now the 50D - colors might be better with the 50?
mbkissel
I don't have a 40D for comparison, but I wouldn't say my 50D photos have any "yellowish tint" either indoors or out. Are you shooting in RAW? Are you using the "Standard" picture style?
PuppyDigs
Landscape Picture Style does impart a rather warm tone.
Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter

nachi_abrams
I am taking jpeg. I do not post process on the computer as I take most of my photos on the road and print them from the cf card directly. When the pictures come out very yellowish as a rule and I have kids running from room to room and outdoors, I dont have the time to custom white balance with a white paper shot all the time. I can do it some of the time, but I miss shots if I am busy with this all of the time.
