arthur_reyes1
Hello again folks. Canon issued the 5DII black dot firmware update back in January. So if I order my 5DII now and get it in a couple weeks, will I have to download the firmware update or do cameras shipped after the release of the update already come with the updated firmware? Thanks!
bobatkins
Who knows. It probably depends when the camera was packaged up. I'm sure they don't remove them from the boxes and update the firmware before they ship them out. However it really doesn't matter since the firmware installation is simple. You're going to have to do it yourself eventually anyway as I'm sure this won't be the last update they issue!
photo_dark
I bought my MkII on January 28, and it had 1.0.6. Like Bob said, it's maybe a 5 minute ordeal to update. I wouldn't worry to much about it.
g dan mitchell
I got mine a couple weeks ago and it came with the updated firmware installed. Considering how fast these things disappear from stock, I suspect you'll have the same experience if you get one now.
