michaelchristensen
I'm waiting for good weather to shoot some film. Time to put some new software in an old reliable camera.
baris_john
Yes, fine grain for negative film. I had a hard time getting accurate (or say neutral) colors though and this is what I hear from others too. Samples are here http://www.photoscala.de/Artikel/Der-Kodak-Ektar-100

For negative film, nothing beats Portra imho.
User_4136860
I don't think it's intended to produce accurate/ neutral colours, but in your face saturated ones.
mark_pierlot
I've just loaded my first roll and begun shooting. I'm looking forward to the incredible detail this film renders.

Baris, I too, love Portra, both VC and NC. It's the best film I've ever used for photographing my daughter, who has been my main subject since her birth almost two years ago.
awahlster
Yea Ektar is more of a Nature film looking for that pop like Velvia 50 has.
cole_anetsberger
i love ektar. i think you will too. i'm addicted to it and portra equally!
peter_dalton
Incredibly fine grain. Excellent shadow detail. Colors hard to balance - looks a bit like xpro under certain circumstances. And cheap. I usually use Fuji 160s in 35 mm as I can get it in sheets and would like to use only one film stock, but I will be switching to Ektar. Did I say it was cheap ($4.50/36 exp at B&H).

canonfduser
Haven't shot any yet but I've heard on other forums that it scans very well, is this true? So far I like what I've seen from it and I may use this as my color negative fillm, I'm mostly shooting K64 these days.

johnw63
That would be firmware. Or perhaps a "sensor" update.
